TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is known as a nationally recognized moving company, but at our core, we are built on a strong foundation of giving back, and do everything we can to help out in our local communities through charity, awareness, and donation events.

Each fall, we run a host of fall cause-marketing campaigns across our 350 plus locations, aiming to make a difference in the communities we live and work in. This lines up with our strong core value system that has carried our company for more than 30 years, and it’s imperative to us as a brand to ensure we are doing everything we can to help those in need.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® runs four core campaigns each fall, ranging across a variety of areas of focus.

Movers for Military: There’s nothing more important than helping the brave men and women who have served our country, and that’s exactly what this campaigns aims to do. This program collects essential items that are delivered to veterans who are currently living in homeless shelters during Veteran’s Day.

Movers for Meals: The ongoing hunger crisis is an issue that always needs addressing, and this campaign strives to provide food to those who need it by partnering with businesses, schools, or other local organizations to collect non-perishable food items that can be delivered to collection centers and food pantries.

TMT MesaMovers for Mutts: Our community outreach doesn’t stop with humans – we take care of our animal friends, too! This campaign works with local animal shelters to collect food, toys, and other essential items for pets in need.

Truckload of Warmth: The fall and winter months often bring a decline in weather, and many people don’t have the proper clothing to stay warm during the harsh winter months. This campaign works with local shelters to collect hats, gloves, coats, scarves, and anything else that can help people in our communities stay warm.

Carolyn-Chynoweth“I think it’s important to have fall campaigns for our brand because it lets people know that we care about our community year round,” said Carolyn Chynoweth, marketing manager for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® North Dallas, South Dallas, McKinney, Carrollton, and Garland (TX) locations. “Also, it helps people understand that we care about many different charities and causes.”

These fall campaigns provide an opportunity for our various locations to identify areas and groups that are in need in the communities they operate in, and offer our expertise and moving services to assist charities and organizations with their work.

Sally-Mink“I really love the fall campaigns because each franchise gets the opportunity to see a specific need in their community and help,” said Sally Mink, marketing director at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Brentwood, Tenn. “Our fall campaigns also show we are not a one-and-done company when it comes to giving back. We are passionate about helping all year long, not just a couple months out of the year.”

It’s the people in our communities that have gotten us to where we are today as a company, and that’s why we put so much effort into giving back any way we can. We love putting a smile on peoples’ faces, and our franchises appreciate the chance to connect with those around them.

“Our movers tell us all the time their favorite part of the job is going out on charity moves or being a part of charity events,” said Jenni Hargrove, sales and marketing director for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Nashville and Hermitage, Tenn., locations. “They know their more difficult moving jobs are worth the hard work because they allow us to fund charity initiatives that serve less fortunate people in the community. Our employees also love that we make sure they always know how they can get involved – it shows them we really are the “Movers Who Care®”, instead of just a corporation.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® lives Giving Back to the Community core value

Written by Lindsay Dow

Giving back to the community is where our hearts lie. So much in fact, that we not only developed one charitable program to support those in need, we created FIVE. One national program that every franchise in our 38 states run during the spring months, and four optional programs our franchises can run locally during the fall season.

Each of these programs consist of the same concept: give back to a specific group of people in need, in our local communities.

Being the Movers Who Care®, and having access to critical resources such as movers to do the heavy lifting, and trucks to do the hauling, it just makes sense!

Here’s what we do:

Movers for momsMovers for Moms®: Our national program that runs each spring, from March to May. This program gives back to mothers in need! Franchises partner with local businesses, organizations, and schools to collect essential care items for mothers living in homeless or domestic abuse shelters locally. Items collected depend on what the shelters need, however they often range from soaps and shampoos, to child care necessities.

398748_MoversforMeals_FinalMovers for Meals: This food collection effort runs each fall and collects food for local pantries and homeless shelters. It is coordinated the same way as our Movers for Moms® collection. Franchises partner with local businesses, organizations, and schools for a specific period of time, sort, box, and deliver all items to their recipient partner.

PrintMovers for Military: We are proud to give back to our veterans and local military families! This program is run in local markets and franchises partner with schools, businesses, and organizations to collect essential, everyday items Veteran’s need most. This program runs each fall, and donations are delivered to homeless Veteran’s shelters and families in need around the                                                 time of Veteran’s Day.

398748_MoversforMutts_FinalMovers for Mutts: We also care about our furry friends. When franchises run this program each fall, they partner with local pet shops, businesses, and schools to collect items shelters need most to care for homeless animals.

PrintTruckload of Warmth: This program is popular among the cold-weather states! This fall program entails collecting warm, new and gently-used clothing for homeless shelters and rescue missions locally. Franchises partner with the community and deliver these items to the recipient shelters just in time for the cold weather to hit.

In 2014, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® was proud to deliver more than 220,000 items to mothers in need across the country through the Movers for Moms effort! The four fall charitable programs collected thousands of items for Veterans, pets, and those in need around the country!

We can’t wait to kick off the Movers for Moms® program in March! If you’re interested in becoming a collection partner, please visit to reach out to the franchise closest to you. Or, email

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Charitable Franchise Spotlight

Compiled by: the Movers Who Blog team

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® would like to recognize our office in Flint, Michigan for their charitable contribution in November of 2011. Residents from a local apartment community were forced to evacuate with only five days’ notice. The Flint location received the call and offered two trucks to help move the remaining residents without hesitation.

A recent story we would like to recognize is about the efforts of the Panama City franchise. The location offered their assistance collecting supplies for survivors of the January 23, 2012 tornados that ripped through the state of Alabama.

Community service has been an important to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® since the very beginning, and still is today.  In fact, the first $1,000 made by the company was donated to ten different charities. Charity is such a huge part of our culture that we created our own charitable giving program – Movers for Moms®. The goal of Movers for Moms® is to collect and deliver gifts for mothers living in women’s shelters on Mother’s Day.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® also helps in the fight against cancer by donating 10 cents of every move to the American Cancer Society. Ten cents may not seem like very much, but in 2011 our customers helped us contribute more than $345,219 from our system.

Other charities franchises work with on a local level includes Move For Hunger, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Toys For Tots and many, many others throughout the country.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® even has a Humanitarian Award that is given to an exceptional franchise in the system annually. This award is presented in recognition of its community actions throughout the past year.
