TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s specialty services offer professional help outside of normal home moving

If you’ve ever seen one of our moving trucks driving around your city, what comes to mind first is a family moving from one home to the next.

Home moving has been the core of our company since its inception. But did you know we can use our professional moving teams for more than just home moving? That’s right! TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® offers a variety of specialty moving options to fit any moving need so customers can use us for all things moving.

We know heavy lifting can be tough and we’re here to make sure you don’t have to handle it on your own!

Pickup and delivery

Buying a new couch or large appliance can be exciting … until you realize you need to get the item home

Thankfully, we’re here to help. We can assist with the delivery of these large items and save you the trouble! We’ll pickup the item from wherever you purchased it, transport it to your home in our moving truck, and bring it inside for you. Talk about a win-win!

Business moving and storage

Not only can we move customers from one home to the next – we can move entire businesses, too! If you’re looking to relocate your office or if you need to move items already within your office, we’re ready to help.

We understand the importance of having limited interruptions to your operation, and that’s why we work diligently with you to schedule around busy times so we can create as little distractions as possible.

In-home moving

The theme with all of these specialty service options is eliminating the inconvenience of heavy lifting for you, and our in-home moving plans are no different. Sometimes, you just want your home rearranged or you need belongings moved in and out of storage, but this requires some hard work and heavy lifting – which isn’t always easy.

You can call a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK moving team to handle it for you! This can cover anything from moving a piece of furniture up and down stairs, or just shifting an entire room around to give your home a fresh look. We can also handle moving items like gun safes, pianos, appliances, and more.

Load and unloading

Sometimes, you just need the muscle and moving help, not the moving truck. Don’t worry, we can help there as well.

If you have rented a moving truck but don’t want to load up or unload your items, you can call our professional moving teams to come out and do all the heavy lifting for you. We’ll move as little or as much as you need!

Please note: With each TWO MEN AND A TRUCK location being independently owned and operated, specialty moving services can sometimes be limited to select franchises. Please use our franchise locator link to find the location closest to you and see if they offer these types of services.

What to expect on your move with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®

From the early days of two high school students moving customers’ belongings around Lansing, Mich., to Founder Mary Ellen Sheets selling the first franchise to her daughter, Melanie, one thing has always remained the same at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK: a commitment to providing a high-quality moving experience to our customers.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK announces D’Angello Thompson as 2020’s “National Move Hero”

IMG_6593

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, we work hard to earn the nickname “Movers Who Care®”, and it’s the individuals on our frontline teams who help keep this name going strong.

With so many outstanding movers, drivers, and customer service representatives across our franchises in 44 U.S. states, we have an entire network of people who can be considered “move heroes”. This year, it was D’Angello Thompson of our Garland, Texas franchise who took home the honor of “National Move Hero” recently at the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nev.

“He is always putting the customer first,” said Kirsten Wilson, the regional sales director for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK North Dallas, Texas franchise location. “He’s always trying to figure out what’s going to make the best move they’ve ever had.”

This same sentiment was echoed by all of Thompson’s coworkers, who all point to his positive attitude, his dedication to making customers happy, and his commitment to his team as reasons why he was so deserving of the award.

“Any situation that D’Angello gets put into, he always makes the best of it,” said Derek Peets, relocation consultant at the North Dallas, Texas franchise location. “It always turns into a positive outcome.”

Keeping customer information safe and secure

With the increased ability of online services and the increased accessibility on the internet these days, it’s more important than ever to ensure all customers’ personal and private information is protected.

Time and time again, you hear stories of people falling victim to scams or other dishonest services that result in their personal information being stolen. This is an unfortunate but common reality today, and making sure you’re dealing with a trustworthy brand is key to keeping your data safe.

At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we never sell or share information about our customers or potential customers when they request our services. Any information that is collected will only be used to provide information to the customer or to perform the services requested.

“At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, we never share or sell customer information, and only collect it to provide information or perform requested services,” said Eric Jaward, the web product manager at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s Home Office location in Lansing, Mich. “We thoroughly vet any third-party vendors we utilize, and ensure they take data security and compliance as seriously as we do.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK CEO Jon Nobis took the time to address how seriously we take data protection to ensure our customers’ personal information isn’t vulnerable to hackers. This is just another way we live up to our name, “Movers Who Care®”!

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK announces National Move Hero

Going above and beyond expectations is what has built the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand into what it is today, and the hard-working individuals displaying this level of commitment daily is what keeps us moving forward as a brand.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is nothing without the movers and drivers at our franchise locations and that’s why each year, we take the time to recognize those who made the biggest impact at their locations as voted on by their teams.

Our “National Move Hero” award was developed to recognize and appreciate these individuals who set the bar high and in 2019, three finalists were invited to attend TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, Colo.:

Sebastian Johnson – Mover/ Driver, Jackson, Mississippi

Dusan Martinovic – Mover/Driver, Portland, Maine

John Hayes – Mover/Driver, St. Louis, Missouri

DSC_0430The three finalists were invited to stay at the beautiful Broadmoor Resort and Hotel, where each was given the chance to soak up the atmosphere of the company, attend educational sessions, and be acknowledged for their achievements. It was a humbling experience, and a time to reflect on the hard work they’ve all put in over the years.

“I love it here. I love it,” Johnson said. “It’s a different atmosphere. [Some of my favorite things so far have been] the snow, just the people here and how friendly they are.”

It was a good chance for the three finalists to get away from their franchises and the trucks and see what else the company has to offer.

“The experience is awesome,” Hayes said. “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. Just to be able to see this beautiful hotel and everything, to learn about all the different aspects of the company I never would have learned about unless I came here.”

At the opening session of Annual Meeting, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK executives took the time to individually recognize Johnson, Hayes, and Martinovic in front of a packed room of franchisees, managers, and Home Office team members.

A video detailing their background was played for each finalist, and a round of applause was given to all three as the impressive customer referral numbers each had posted were announced.

“I mean, I’ve never had anybody do that,” Martinovic said. “And the fact that I got the chance to stand out in front of everybody was just … it made my heart burst because I’ve never had this opportunity before.”

On the final day of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Annual Meeting, an awards ceremony was held to recognize the top franchises around the country, and ended with the presentation of one National Move Hero award.

Among the three finalists, Johnson was named the company’s top National Move Hero for the year where he was recognized on stage and received his award from CEO Jon Nobis and President Randy Shacka. It was an emotional moment for Johnson, and he was just happy to see his work pay off in the biggest way.

DSC_0418.JPG“It melted me. It melted me,” Johnson said. “Just to be in front of everyone and hear my name called out on the big screen – it melted me. It means a lot to me to be recognized.”

The award came as no surprise to those from the Jackson, Miss., location, either.

“He’s got a sincere desire to want to do the job right,” said Jeff Taylor, franchisee of the Jackson, Miss., location. “Sebastian would succeed wherever it was he decided to be, but I’m sure glad he’s here with us.”

Congrats to Sebastian Johnson, John Hayes, and Dusan Martinovic for their individual achievements over the last year, and we look forward to awarding a new National Move Hero in 2020!

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK locations continue their mission of giving back year-round

Drop off Day 9.jpg

Written by Erik Sargent

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is focused on giving back in any and every way possible, and that doesn’t stop with our moving services.

As our company has evolved over the years, so have the ways we’ve been able to deliver to our communities and make an impact as our teams and resources grow. This is especially true with our charitable efforts, which took a big step when we developed four of our own charitable programs during the fall months.

These four programsMovers for Meals®, Movers for Mutts, Movers for Military®, and Truckload of Warmth – have become a staple at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises all across the country, with each having the ability to choose the one that fits their franchise the best. Fall 2018 was another big year in giving back through these four programs, and the team members at our franchise locations were more than happy to help out in their communities!

“This year was our first annual Movers for Mutts campaign, and we feel that it went really well,” said Stephanie Mills, marketing and communications director for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Huntsville, Ala., location. “We worked with pet food and supplies stores, storage units, apartment complexes, skate parks, hardware stores, banks, juice bars, veterinarians, local hospital departments, and more. Many of the businesses we worked with were already established contacts of our beneficiary or our company who were more than happy to be a drop off location for Movers for Mutts.”

movers for mutts donationsWorking with such a large number of collection partners, Mills and the Huntsville location were able to help spread the word of Movers for Mutts throughout the area, and it showed in the amount of items they collected.

“We feel it went extremely well overall,” Mills said. “It got the word out in our community about animals who don’t have homes yet. We had a large number of people wanting to be involved in the campaign, whether that meant getting the word out via social media, being a collection site, or donating. Just this year alone, we were able to collect more than 1,300 items for the local animal rescue center, A New Leash On Life. It was a huge success in our books.”

For our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Southeast locations, they chose to run Movers for Military this fall, as they felt it was important to give back to the veterans in their community and show appreciation for all of the hard work done by the brave men and women in our military.

With a number of employees having their own military background, it was a natural fit for their teams.

“It was a good fit because we employ veterans at each of our locations,” said Charlene Bush, marketing manager for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Ann Arbor, Brighton, Brownstown, and Oakland Southwest locations. “Some of our longest tenured full-time movers and drivers are veterans, and we wanted to be able to give back and show our appreciation.”

Three of the four TWO MEN AND A TRUCK campaigns were able to put up big numbers for the fall of 2018. Movers for Meals had 7,100 items collected and an astounding $20,636 in food donations and vouchers. Movers for Mutts had 8,000 items collected across the country, and Movers for Military collected 5,000 items that were able to be distributed to veterans in need.

It’s an effective and easy way for us to give back to the people who have made this company possible, and for each of our franchise locations, it will continue to be a priority moving forward in 2019.

“I am passionate about giving back to and supporting the people in our communities because it embodies our core values and our mission,” Bush said. “We are the ‘Movers Who Care®’. We need to live that out, and it needs to be a part of our culture. I believe that it builds trust within an organization, as well as a community for people to see TWO MEN AND A TRUCK helping and lending that community support.”
