Going above and beyond expectations is what has built the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand into what it is today, and the hard-working individuals displaying this level of commitment daily is what keeps us moving forward as a brand.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is nothing without the movers and drivers at our franchise locations and that’s why each year, we take the time to recognize those who made the biggest impact at their locations as voted on by their teams.
Our “National Move Hero” award was developed to recognize and appreciate these individuals who set the bar high and in 2019, three finalists were invited to attend TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, Colo.:
–Sebastian Johnson – Mover/ Driver, Jackson, Mississippi
–Dusan Martinovic – Mover/Driver, Portland, Maine
–John Hayes – Mover/Driver, St. Louis, Missouri
The three finalists were invited to stay at the beautiful Broadmoor Resort and Hotel, where each was given the chance to soak up the atmosphere of the company, attend educational sessions, and be acknowledged for their achievements. It was a humbling experience, and a time to reflect on the hard work they’ve all put in over the years.
“I love it here. I love it,” Johnson said. “It’s a different atmosphere. [Some of my favorite things so far have been] the snow, just the people here and how friendly they are.”
It was a good chance for the three finalists to get away from their franchises and the trucks and see what else the company has to offer.
“The experience is awesome,” Hayes said. “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. Just to be able to see this beautiful hotel and everything, to learn about all the different aspects of the company I never would have learned about unless I came here.”
At the opening session of Annual Meeting, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK executives took the time to individually recognize Johnson, Hayes, and Martinovic in front of a packed room of franchisees, managers, and Home Office team members.
A video detailing their background was played for each finalist, and a round of applause was given to all three as the impressive customer referral numbers each had posted were announced.
“I mean, I’ve never had anybody do that,” Martinovic said. “And the fact that I got the chance to stand out in front of everybody was just … it made my heart burst because I’ve never had this opportunity before.”
On the final day of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Annual Meeting, an awards ceremony was held to recognize the top franchises around the country, and ended with the presentation of one National Move Hero award.
Among the three finalists, Johnson was named the company’s top National Move Hero for the year where he was recognized on stage and received his award from CEO Jon Nobis and President Randy Shacka. It was an emotional moment for Johnson, and he was just happy to see his work pay off in the biggest way.
“It melted me. It melted me,” Johnson said. “Just to be in front of everyone and hear my name called out on the big screen – it melted me. It means a lot to me to be recognized.”
The award came as no surprise to those from the Jackson, Miss., location, either.
“He’s got a sincere desire to want to do the job right,” said Jeff Taylor, franchisee of the Jackson, Miss., location. “Sebastian would succeed wherever it was he decided to be, but I’m sure glad he’s here with us.”
Congrats to Sebastian Johnson, John Hayes, and Dusan Martinovic for their individual achievements over the last year, and we look forward to awarding a new National Move Hero in 2020!
