Valentine’s Day is approaching quickly, and what better way to celebrate than with some fun and easy DIY crafts to spruce up your home?

Each year at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, we like to put our creative hats on to craft a few unique Valentine’s Day crafts that can be made from simple items and that are fun for all ages! So bust out the scissors, get out the glue, and enjoy!

Unicorn Valentine’s Day Mailbox

Supplies:

1 Truckie’s Treasure Chest or Day of Move box – visit your local TWO MEN A TRUCK to purchase this box!

Craft paper – white, black, glittered

Glue stick or hot glue gun

Scissors

Ribbon

Birthday party hat

Step 1: Assemble your box and place the handles into the open spaces on the side.

Step 2: Cover the box in craft paper of their choice. For the unicorn design, we stuck with white cardstock. Use a hot glue gun or tape to secure the paper to the box.

Step 3. Cut two triangles for ears. Using tape, secure them the top of the box on both sides to make them stand upright.

Step 4: Take your black construction paper and draw out a face for the unicorn. Cut around your outline and glue them to the front of the box.

Step 5: For the unicorn head, we bought cone shaped party hats and secured one to the top using tape. We also picked out gift wrap bows for either side.

Cardboard heart

valentines-day-craft-1This cardboard heart décor is perfect to display in a window, on a bedroom door, or above your dining room table. The best part is this takes less than 20 minutes to make!

Supplies:

Cardboard
Yarn or ribbon
Craft paper
Hot glue gun
Scissors

Step 1: Cut out two large hearts from a cardboard box.

Step 2: Fold each heart in half to form a crease down the center, giving you four outward half-heart shapes. Use a hot glue gun to secure the two pieces together at the back of each fold.

Step 3: Time to be creative! Cover the hearts in craft paper of your choice.

Step 4: Secure ribbon or yarn around the heart and hang in your home!

Twine Heart Garland

valentinesday-8Supplies:

1 Small box
Scissors or box cutter
Jute and yarn
Hot glue gun

Step 1: Cut small heart shapes from your cardboard box.

Step 2: Use jute, twine, or yarn to wrap around your heart. We secured ours with a hot glue gun.

Step 3: In between the hearts, we created yarn pom-poms for variety. To make a pom-pom, use your palm to wrap the yarn in a circle. After you wrap (we recommend at least 30 times!), use a separate piece of yarn to tie a knot around the center, almost like a belt. You will then want to use your scissors to cut the loop ends on each side of the center tie. Fluff it up and you have a pom-pom! TIP! Watch our video tutorial to see how this is done.

Step 4. Thread the twine through your hearts and pom-poms and you’re garland is complete!
