Helping America fight cancer

Cancer affects almost everyone. Most likely, you know a cancer survivor, someone who lost their battle to cancer, or someone who is currently battling cancer. The American Cancer Society works day in and day out, saving lives to create a world where cancer affects less people. ACS’s mission is to dedicate time in minimizing the cancer footprint through research, service, and educating the public.

Giving back to the community is a core value near and dear to our hearts. In addition to our efforts to give back to the local communities we serve, each year the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® corporate office follows in Founder Mary Ellen Sheets’ footsteps in giving back to the community by donating 10 cents of each move to the American Cancer Society. This partnership began in 2000, allowing TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®/INTERNATIONAL, Inc. to make significant contributions to research and resources in the fight against cancer for more than a decade.

“I’m proud to be a supporter of ACS. This dreadful disease has impacted so many – family, friends, and co-workers. We won’t give up the fight,” said company Founder Mary Ellen Sheets.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is proud to be one of ACS’s millions of supporters. In 2014, we donated a total of $45,315 to the American Cancer Society, exceeding 2013’s donations by more than $2,200. Since the partnership first rolled out in 2000, we have donated over $470,000 to the cause.

On Tuesday, March 17, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® presented the American Cancer Society a check of $45,315.40.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® strives to move people forward in every area of their lives, especially toward recovery. We contribute part of our donations at the local level with the Road to Recovery program, Relay for Life, and Making Strides against Breast Cancer. The Road to Recovery offers transportation to treatment centers for individuals who cannot take themselves and is supplied with volunteer drivers who act as comfort and support. Each year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®/INTERNATIONAL, Inc. employees walk in the Lansing, Mich., Making Strides
against Breast Cancer event, promoting awareness for the most common cancer found in women.

In 2015, we hope to continue surpassing donations from past years. We are planning to have a record-breaking year this year! We love our partnership with the American cancer Society and helping America fight cancer.
